About

I am the author of two dozen novels and novellas, many written for young adults. I have also self-published one nonfiction book. I have been writing fiction off and on for the past 45 years. I have written under my own name, my own pen names and pen names chosen by my clients. I have been a Christian for nearly as many years as I have been a writer. My goal through my writing is to promote the Gospel to as many people as possible, especially to those who are not in a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.

I have been a fan of God’s creation, especially the animal part, for as long as I can remember. My husband and I share a house with numerous furred, finned and feathered pets. I have also worked as an editor—salaried and freelance, written slews of non-fiction articles on various topics, owned and operated retail stores, been employed by magazines and government agencies. I have discovered that these life experiences enrich my writing.

Born in New York, I moved to Canada when I was in my mid-30s and have lived there ever since. I currently reside in Atlantic Canada, surrounded by pristine beaches and enchanting ocean waters, the perfect setting for creativity! I am the sole caregiver to my elderly mother so am unable to work outside the home, the perfect excuse to concentrate my free time on developing my writing. I still edit as a freelancer, which can consume a good chunk of my time.

As a child, my favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz  – watching this on TV was an annual event. When I was older, I fell in love with The Lord of the Rings, and was pleased to discover after my own conversion to Christianity that author J.R.R. Tolkien also shared my faith. Today, I love to read but sadly have little time for it. When I do have time (usually in the waiting room of the auto repair shop), I gravitate to novels by writers such as Dan Brown (despite the theological differences, I admire his style and love those mysterious codes, symbols, clues and allusions to secret societies)! I enjoy Bible prophecy, some of today’s most convincing conspiracy theories and studying the “signs of the times” to see if God is indeed telling us something.  I also enjoy writing Amish stories. Much of my ghostwritten fiction is Amish romance, and I am drawn to my Amish characters because of their (usually) single-hearted devotion to God.
